Sweet Tobacco and Wood Cologne; Very Good Red Tobacco Clone

* Really nice blend of sweet, tobacco, wood, incense and musk aromas
* Very good clone of Mancera Red Tobacco
* Smells like really good pipe or cigar smoke
* Love child of Bentley for Men Intense and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
* Very strong on the opening
* Good performance
* Excellent choice for cooler weather
* Good for formal occasion use

* Not unisex
* Strong sweet tobacco opening may be offputting
* No vanilla or booze aromas to help soften out the tobacco
* Potentially as divisive as an oud fragrance
* Not suitable for younger users

Tobacco Rouge is a clone of the wildly popular -- and wildly divisive -- Mancera Red Tobacco. It's a strong blend of sweet tobacco, wood, incense and musk aromas. The tobacco is really strong on the opening and the drydown is strong on the incense and musk. It certainly reminds me of my grandfather's pipe and father's cigars. Imagine Bentley for Men Intense had a love child with Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, and the offspring inherited all the incense of the former and the tobacco of the latter.

The flipside is that there isn't any booze or vanilla aromas to counter the strong tobacco. It's tobacco all the way. If you look at the original's reviews of Red Tobacco on Fragrantica, it's a very polarizing cologne that people either really love or really hate and you'll have the same reaction to this clone as it's pretty much spot on.

Newer users who have never used a tobacco forward cologne before may want to consider starting out with Paris Corner's Charuto Tobacco Vanille, Armaf's Just Jack Tobacco Leaf or Maison Alhambra's Tobacco Touch instead which add a sweet vanilla note that softens and rounds out the tobacco before diving into this one head on. That's exactly what I did before getting this one.

This is great for cooler weather and good for using on formal occasions. This leans older and isn't suitable for younger users IMHO. It's also very masculine and not appropriate for female users.
