Up close you will tell them apart. However I feel most won't be able to when you're out in public and they smell it on you, walking by someone. It feels updated where they took something I didn't like about the standard L'Aventure and improved on it as that was a huge reason I never bothered buying my own bottle of L'Aventure was the sourness up close. Even if my brother didn't bathe in two 100ml bottles of the standard version over the past 5 years and it wasn't a new fragrance sort of excitement I'd still prefer intense.

longevity and projection felt about the same. To me it's like L'Aventure 2 or something. I would not buy this expecting double the performance of an already beast mode (to me anyways) fragrance.

Is it worth owning both? I'd say no

.. my bottle is extremely weak… it lasts two hours and then completely disappears. Also, on the Al Haramain website, the “intense” lettering is black letters. Mine is a black plaque with white lettering on top. I truly hope this is not a fake. If it’s legit it should macerate and get better as reviews I’ve read say this is the best and strongest longest lasting aventus dupe. We’ll see..

Most people go after CDNIM for the aventus dna, but this one is a banger and it doesn't have that harsh opening.
