This was my first "Niche" purchase and a blind buy. When you smell this out of the bottle and upon initial spray, I get more or less what I was expecting of this fragrance. Spicey, dark, vanilla, however; here is the reality of my experience so far. You are quickly taken over by a very strong smoky scent somewhat like burning wood, mixed with some rubber tire. At this point the vanilla is vary far in the distance. This tones down after an hour or so on my skin and turns into a very strong cedar smell. This is the middle. Cedar. Pure cedar. Nothing else. This lasts for hours before the final dry down which is when I finally start to get some of the vanilla. At this point it is a nice blend of smoky, spicy, cedar, and vanillla. This is the only stage that I really enjoy but it takes a long time to get there. The positive for me is that I only smell it if I choose to as it is mostly a skin scent for me, so the stages that I don't appreciate are not all up in my face. I could still smell remnants of the drydown on my skin the next day.
If you love strong burnned wood scents and love cedar than you may absolutely love this.
For me, this is ok, but not worth Niche prices. I have some cedar essential oil and vanillla and feel like I could have created this same effect quite easily myself...but what do I know...I'm certainly not an expert so take what I say with a grain of salt.
