Barocque Rouge Extrait is a clone of MFK Baccarat Rouge Extrait. I have never smelled it and so have no reference to it and am judging this on its own merits. It's a very complex blend of sweet, amber, wood, berry, spice and vetiver aromas and crosses into more than one fragrance family.
This is very enticing for both sexes and can be used by either. Performance is weak, it reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana's The One and the Guess Seductive line in this regard. Overspraying and respraying are required for a moderate performance throughout the day. It's affordable, though, so you can restock aplenty.
This is really a great fragrance for intimate occasions. I rarely describe a fragrance as romantic, but this one deserves the label. It can be used by both men and women during all seasons.
SMELLS GOOD
Unique smells and so different hard to describe
Okay. I have no ability to articulate what I’m saying besides saying that I typically go for a fruity floral - something warm but fresh. I don’t love gourmand fragrances typically - I didn’t like the KAY ALI vanilla that is supposed to be amazing - smelled the caramel and it almost seems sour to me. I also find woody fragrances a bit upsetting for some reason.
This, though - THIS. This is sheer feeling, like what I want a woody fragrance to be. Like sipping dry champagne on a dry stump covered in grey bark. This smells like you just took a shower and are in your silk pjs and on your way to the fridge for the best strawberries you’ve ever eaten. This is like the benefit and joy of being out in the rain and not having to go home in wet clothes.
This is clean, fresh, lovely. It isn’t fruity, it isn’t as almondy as I thought but it is just delicious.
It leaves a very faint smell for a long time but it doesn’t project a huge amount. I put some on last night, slept the night, and still could smell it on my wrist the next day, but faintly. This suits me perfectly. For $25 this smells absolutely amazing. Will repurchase.
Definitely a little different than the EDP; the almond makes it seem a little sweeter and a little less metallic. I think I need to let this sit for a while cause performance is not as good as my bottle of Baroque EDP.
