Luxurious British take on old spice

Santal is a spicy, woodsy scent with some sweet florals mixed in. Interestingly enough, my girlfriend really liked this so it has some female appeal too.

I bought this along with Floris no. 89, and Santal is far more wearable and easy to wear. Can be worn casually, or fresh out of the shower, even to bed. Extremely versatile and not going to offend anyone. Office safe too.

Off the bat, I get hit with cardamom and peppery spice. Later it dries down to a pleasant and sweet floral. Mostly lavender and nutmeg (if you’re going by fragrantica). Favourite part is the dry down around the 3-4 hour mark where sandalwood, vanilla and musk take over.

A lot of Floris fans love Santal for the versatility and pleasantness, from what I gather. Not a young man’s scent but anyone mid-20s and up can appreciate this. Cheaper than most of the Floris lineup too! Worth a try and a blind buy if you’re looking for a spicy-sweet-sandalwoody scent
