Don’t get me wrong - Nasomatto fragrances in general are not for the faint of heart. Alessandro Gualtieri is a genius perfumer. But be prepared to be shocked. Nasomattos are more like olfactory art, rather than your Tuesday morning, after shower, spray and go to the office type of thing. Smelling these creations is an occasion and demands to be treated as such. You don’t get these perfumes to impress anyone or garner compliments - this is a selfish experience. You get Nasomatto to treat yourself.
Considering above, it is rather immaterial whether these fragrances last or project (they usually do both quite strongly though). Pardon is a little sweet, a but boozy to my nose. But there are surprises too - after the first spray, in the opening, there is a little hint of animalic in this perfume - a thing I personally quite appreciate, but it’s not for everyone.
Wearing Pardon creates an aura of a special occasion, makes you stand out. It won’t necessarily get other people to blindly follow you. In fact, when I put on any of Gualtieri’s perfumes, I do it for a boost of confidence, and I know that I may well push people away a little with these scents. They are, in my limited experience, all very strong, all carry animalic signatures (sometimes in the heart, sometimes throughout). These scents are not for you, if you thing Bleu de Channel is the best scent ever. However, Pardon, in my opinion, is the most universally likable of all Nasomatto perfumes. It is boozy and sweet, a little woody, very slightly aromatic - all in a very classy and beautiful way. The way that this fragrance is mixed is absolutely artisan and deserves absolute highest marks in my book.
