Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui is a dry woody aromatic with fresh spicy vibes. People say this is a leather fragrance? I unfortunately do not get that at all. It’s way more of a fresh spicy barber shop scent to me. I really love the smell and the hit of aldehydes is great. It’s really classy and traditionally masculine.
What lets it down is its lacking strength and poor longevity. I no doubt have a modern formulation, so no idea how this used to perform. For me I get about 3 hours of good projection with a final 2-3 hours as a skin scent. It’s decent if you spray it on a little heavy, and that’s easy to justify given I picked up my bottle for a very affordable $30.
If performance was better I’d give this an easy thumbs up. But given how I wish it was stronger and projected more, I’ll have to give it a neutral.
