* Exact same strengths as Polo Red
* Clean and refreshing fruit forward cologne
* Distinctly different from the classic heavily woody Polo Green original
* Nice blend of tropical, citrus, amber, wood and powder aromas
* Nice strong fruit opening followed by a smooth drydown
* Great for warm weather
* Good for both older and younger users
* Unisex despite the marketing
* Exact same weaknesses as Polo Red
* Weak performer despite strong longevity
* Requires overspraying and respraying
Polo Black is a flanker to the original classic Polo Green. The TLDR is that it's a tropical mango version of Polo Red EDT. Trade out Polo Red's red cranberry and red grapefruit notes for mango and clementine orange notes and you've got Polo Black. They are identical to my nose except for the opening fruit notes. This is clean and refreshing, blending that mango and clementine with amber, wood and soft powder aromas. Drydown is exceptionally smooth, just like Red EDT's.
This is good for both older and younger users, totally unisex and is particularly great for warmer weather. My only knock against it is the exact same as Red EDT's -- weak performance. This definitely requires overspraying and respraying throughout the day. This is mostly due to low projection and sillage, the longevity is actually quite strong and will last into the next day on clothing. I'd love to see an EDP or Parfum edition of this that would be a lot stronger, but it seems that this wasn't quite the hit that either Polo Blue or Polo Red which both received EDP and Parfum versions as well as multiple flankers. I know Polo Double Black is out there but it also appears to be an EDT version as well. Recommended, but I strongly advise you to use it in warm weather.
