This may be the only review of this fragance on the internet currently. Whereas many people have already touted The Artist No.2 as the Portrait of a Lady clone, they're incorrect. THIS is definitely a dead ringer for POAL. Stunned at how well they did the spiciness in the mid - bit more piercing than POAL - but still better and less metallic than TT's Porpora. They even got the cumin note right! Opens with straight up rose (the common synthetic jammy kind), then moves into that spice kick from eugenol, incense, cumin and patchouli and rounds it out with a musky benzoin. But the sweetness is so wonderfully rich and dense on paper. Not strong, but rich. Can't say that the quality is on par with the actual FM, but it's extremely well blended for a budget scent. Longevity is above average and without stooping to using nose-tweaking woody ambers. Box and bottle are both beautiful and simplistic. Atomizer is good and the black cap is plastic but fits snuggly. Overall, super happy with my purchase. For the price, I can't recommend it enough for those looking for a slightly tamer POAL alternative. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of rose, feminine soap or an old church lady's musty purse (LOL), I might advise you to look elsewhere. Otherwise, if you've sampled POAL and know what you're getting into (as I did), this is a massive hit. Super fast shipping too. Another win for the brand!
