Absolutely a true gem!!

I second the previous reviewer and this Artist No.1 is actually the bang on clone of Frederic Malle "Portrait Of A Lady". Even if this wasn't it, I must say this is still such a beautiful high quality fragrance including all the packaging. It's absolutely stunning rose and some spice fragrance and performance is also a top notch. I have tried the original "Portrait Of A Lady" before but never had a full wearing so I can't really compare the performance and the closeness of the scent itself but I think it's at least 95% close and there is absolutely no complaint with its performance. I would NEVER spend over $500 for it when I can enjoy the same thing just for CAD$32!! If anyone likes rose fragrance, look no further. Guys can pull this one off as long as you enjoy it. I absolutely do!! And trust me, it does NOT smell like a lady but more of an expensive "art". Definitelly a back up bottle worthy!! On the side note, "The Artist No. 2" is NOT "Portrait Of A Lady" but it's "The Night", just so you all know which is ANOTHER a banger that I bought together with this one. Thanks to Maison Alhambra and to Perfumeonline!!

Olor a sexy a rosas!

I have never smelled POAL as I am green to more niche type fragrances. But as I am expanding my palette, I can say that I dont even care to smell POAL. This is some good juice. Very mature smell. Maybe not for the goofy millennials, but more for a more mature distinguished gentleman trying to grab the attention of someone special. They will 100% notice how sexy you smell even if you are ugly. Awesome blind buy on this one. Patting myself on the back for this one!!

Portrait of a Lady - and very well done.

This may be the only review of this fragance on the internet currently. Whereas many people have already touted The Artist No.2 as the Portrait of a Lady clone, they're incorrect. THIS is definitely a dead ringer for POAL. Stunned at how well they did the spiciness in the mid - bit more piercing than POAL - but still better and less metallic than TT's Porpora. They even got the cumin note right! Opens with straight up rose (the common synthetic jammy kind), then moves into that spice kick from eugenol, incense, cumin and patchouli and rounds it out with a musky benzoin. But the sweetness is so wonderfully rich and dense on paper. Not strong, but rich. Can't say that the quality is on par with the actual FM, but it's extremely well blended for a budget scent. Longevity is above average and without stooping to using nose-tweaking woody ambers. Box and bottle are both beautiful and simplistic. Atomizer is good and the black cap is plastic but fits snuggly. Overall, super happy with my purchase. For the price, I can't recommend it enough for those looking for a slightly tamer POAL alternative. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of rose, feminine soap or an old church lady's musty purse (LOL), I might advise you to look elsewhere. Otherwise, if you've sampled POAL and know what you're getting into (as I did), this is a massive hit. Super fast shipping too. Another win for the brand!
